Editorial Competencies
Exceptional writing and editing skills
Experience writing or participating in blogs, community sites and social media
An understanding of internet communications strategies, blogging best practice,
social media trends, techniques and information architecture
Skills to build and maintain relationships with bloggers and key online outlets
Experience editing images or preparing graphics for the web and email
communications
Online Campaigning and social media skills
Strong capacity to think strategically and formulate long-term communications and engagement plans
Experience developing and implementing online campaigns and/or marketing
strategies
Up-to-date experience in social media and innovative digital storytelling tools
Experience engaging and building communities on social networks, particularly Twitter and Facebook
An interest in and understanding of online campaign methods and the contribution campaign work can make to achieving change.
Ideally, experience with the use of mobile messaging tools to engage supporters
Team work:
Ability to work collaboratively in project teams drawn from wide range of disciplines, both as a team member and a team leader
Ability to develop good working relationships internally, across the global organization and with external consultants and strategic partners

Required Skills and Experience
Technical requirments
At least 2 years experience in online organizing, campaigning or communications experience
Experience of producing website applications, multimedia content, or mobile applications
Excellent Drupal knowledge and experience with other CMS
Excellent web publishing skills including XHTML and CSS
Experience of briefing and managing external consultants such as web developers and designers
Solid project management experience
Previous experience using Content Management Systems
Experience using online services to campaign for change, for example, email service providers and email advocacy tools
Ability to develop and analyze email and online metrics based on benchmarks and best practices for non-profits
Ideally, knowledge or experience of information architecture, user interface design and usability issues and techniques.
