    Dear Comrades:
Please permit me to introduce to you the African Network for Prevention and Protection against Child Abuse and Neglect (ANPPCAN). ANPPCAN is a Pan – African non governmental and not – for – profit child rights based organization. ANPPCAN was organized in 1986 in Enugu, Nigeria. Its head office is located in Nairobi, Kenya, and it has chapters in 22 African countries. The organization is concerned with, among other issues, creating brighter opportunity for children and women, fighting for their rights and making the communities safer for them so they can be able to realize their true potentials. ANPPCAN – Liberia is a member organization of ANPPCAN. It was formed in 2001 in Monrovia -Liberia. It strives for the enhancement of child and women’s rights, and the protection of children through building the capacities of communities and institutions so they can be able to protect their own children. The organization, among its many activities seeks to empower women and children through training, support, awareness creation, education and protection. ANPPCAN – Liberia is providing care and supports (educational and psychosocial) to 200 HIV/AIDS orphans and other vulnerable children in Margibi and Grand Cape Mount Counties (Central and Western Liberia). The UNICEF (Liberia) funded project is providing educational/school materials support to 100 children and skills training to another 100 children. Girls are 55% of the aforesaid beneficiaries. At the moment, we are running a project titled (COMBATING HIV/AIDS THROUGH FOOT BALL AND KICK BALL IN LIBERIA) as a means of creating awareness to the youths in Liberia a post conflict country on the danger, causes, and preventive measures of HIV/AIDS. Against this backdrop, we request that you partner with us in making this project a success by donating to us some foot balls and other sports materials which will be distributed during the various games to enable us implement this important project.
    Best regards. Sincerely,
    Clement O. Stephens
    Executive Director ANPPCAN Liberia
